STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County began its Winter Reading Program on Monday.

The “Read Around the World Reading Challenge,” is the opportunity to explore new worlds, one page at a time.

“Pick up your passport and complete exciting reading challenges in order to unlock amazing prizes,” stated Jennifer Cesta, public relations coordinator.

Jaime Romanyak, manager at the Main Library in downtown Steubenville, prepared kits for patrons who are taking part in the event Monday morning.

Adults will have the opportunity to travel through various stories and track their pages in order to win prizes, including gift cards, an air fryer gift basket and more.

“Every literary traveler who reads 5,000 pages will receive a tote bag and endless bragging rights,” officials stated.

Children will have a chance to discover magical adventures by utilizing the library’s bingo game. Those taking part in the reading challenge are competing for rewards, such as LEGO sets, a Bluey gift basket and other surprises.

The challenge runs for a little more than two months, officials stated, noting the program will run through March 31.

Tote bags and drawing prizes can be claimed beginning April 15. Stop by the library to pick up a passport and let the adventure begin.
