Upcoming events at library

STEUBENVILLE — The Jefferson County Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has announced its upcoming events and activities at area branches throughout the area.

Those interested in attending any of the events are asked to contact the branch and register to ensure a seat.

Main Library (740) 282-9782

Adults: Re-Craft Steubenville and Strong Towns is being held at the library every fourth Monday of the month. Participants are asked to bring their project to library between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27. Whether it is to sew a button or patch a pair of pants, the library will have free materials, machines and guidance available.

Book club will meet at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 29 to discuss the book “Sworn to Silence,” by Linda Castillo. Register to join.

The Books on Tap Book Club, in partnership with Hightower Brewing Co., will meet at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 26. For information, call the library.

Children: It’s grab-and-go craft day Jan. 28, while supplies last. The bag will contain supplies to celebrate LEGO Day.

Babygarten, a lap-sit program for parents and children between the ages of birth to 2, will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 31. Learn songs and read books during this activity. Register to attend.

Adults: Make a snowman magnet using needlepoint on plastic canvas. The program will be held at 5 p.m. Jan. 28. Register to attend.

Children: Pick up a grab-and-go craft and Story Time at the library, beginning Feb. 1, while supplies last.

Adults: “Everyone on This Train Is a Suspect,” by Benjamin Stevenson, is this month’s selection for Book Club, which will take place at 6 p.m. Jan. 27. Call to join the group discussion.

Children: Pick up a grab-and-go craft on Jan. 31. The bag will contain supplies relating to Groundhog’s Day.

Play and Learn the Alphabet will take place at 11 a.m. Jan. 28. The program is for parents who have children between the ages of 2 and 6. Participants will have fun playing with toys that promote alphabet knowledge. Register to attend.

Celebrate National Take Your Child to the Library Day on Feb. 1. Guests will have the opportunity to make a bookmark.

Warm up reading the Book Club’s “The Frozen River,” by Ariel Lwhon. Discussion about the book will take place at 6 p.m. Jan. 28.
