PITTSBURGH -- The Smithsonian-affiliated Sen. John Heinz History Center will host its 27th-annual History Uncorked event, Mirror Ball, from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on March 7.
Presented by UPMC and UPMC Health Plan, the event is considered to be Pittsburgh's No. 1 party, officials commented.
The evening will feature an all-night dance party with disc jockey Bonics, as well as top Pittsburgh restaurants providing "decadent bites" for guests.
A silent auction which will feature "exclusive merchandise and luxury experiences" will be held, as well as a "glitzy photo booth."
Chaired by local business owner Laura Early, History Uncorked is an evening to network, celebrate and unwind with friends and peers, while exploring six floors of the history center's award-winning exhibitions.
Partygoers can enjoy bites and beverages from local restaurants and vendors, including Pennsylvania Libations, Penn Brewery, Bar Marco, Cilantro and Ajo and more, Early stated.
All proceeds from the event will support the center, including bringing Smithsonian-quality exhibitions to Pittsburgh, creating programming for learners of all ages, preserving historic artifacts and ensuring collections continue to inspire future generations.
General admission will be $65 in advance and $85 at the door. VIP tickets, which can only be purchased in advance, will cost $135 and include admission to a VIP reception at 6:30 p.m.

Experts Fintan Mullan and Gillian Hunt from the Ulster Historical Foundation in Belfast, Northern Ireland, will examine historic records and electronic resources that will advance visitors' Irish genealogy research, officials explained.
The workshop will feature live question-and-answer sessions, as well as interactive networking opportunities, offering a chance to foster connections between attendees and expert speakers.
Live presentations will include: An introduction to Irish and Scots-Irish family history research; law and order records in Ireland, including sources relating to the police, local courts and prison system; Irish church records for use in genealogical research, including baptismal, marriage and burial records; and how to get the best use out of the Ulster Historical Foundation's new website.
Special access lecture recordings will be available to attendees following the live workshop.

Drunken Irish music dudes to perform
WHEELING -- Waterfront Hall will hold a special show on Friday at its 1230 Water St. location in Wheeling. Sponsored by Carenbauer Distributing, the evening will feature a Big Timber Beer Tap Takeover, which includes a selection of Big Timber beers on draft.
"We can even turn the beer green to celebrate St. Patrick's Day," officials commented. "We can't wait for this one-of-a-kind evening."
One of the hall's favorite bands, the Bastard Bearded Irishmen, will return to kick of the St. Patty's season. The Pittsburgh-based band is "one of the most entertaining and energetic live shows today," officials stated. "Their sound is an original, ferocious blend of traditional and contemporary Celtic music, mixed with punk, gypsy and high-energy rock n' roll."
"You're more likely to believe these guys are from Dublin than the South Hills of Pittsburgh," stated WDVE morning show host Randy Baumann.
"An immensely-talented and dedicated group of musicians that could hold their own on stage with the Pogues, Flogging Molly or Dropkick Murphys. No band from Pittsburgh makes me want to drink more," Baumann added.
Presale tickets are on being sold for $20 at waterfronthall.ticketleap.com.
