Alpha Tau Chapter discusses scholarships
NEW CUMBERLAND — The Alpha Tau Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, International Honorary Organization for Women Educators in West Virginia, held its April meeting at the Swaney Memorial Library.
President Fran Jones called the meeting to order. Chaplain Kathy Griffith gave a reading from “Walking in Grace.”
Amy Hannahs, immediate past president, took roll and distributed copies of the March minutes for approval.
Treasurer Velda Icard presented the financial report. Committee reports were presented.
Applications for the group’s scholarship award were presented by Hannahs and were reviewed by members.
The recipients will be invited to attend the May meeting and receive their award.
Hannahs was presented her biennium scrapbook by Historian Michelle Bernardi.
Susan Gracie, fraternity education chairman, did a crossword puzzle activity with the group.
Monies were collected from fundraisers for the chapter’s scholarship. The group discussed ideas for the membership campaign.
Hostesses for the meeting were Jones and Griffith. The May meeting will feature a picnic and recognition of scholarship recipients.
