WEIRTON — The Disciples Women at First Christian Church will hear from guest speaker Vickie Valles Joseph, treasurer of the St. Vincent de Paul Society bed ministry, at 6 p.m. May 8.

The ministry not only delivers beds to those in need, but it puts the beds together and make them up with linens, as well.

Janet Rymer, Disciples Women president, is inviting all members and women from throughout the community, to make a reservation to attend. Collections of full- and twin-size bed linens or monetary donations will be accepted at the meeting.

The theme of the Disciples Women comes from Micah 6:8, according to Rymer, who quoted, “What does the Lord require you but to do justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God?”

“The group tries to do these things by having a service project at every meeting,” she stated.
