Indian Creek to hold reverse drawing

MINGO JUNCTION — Members involved with the Indian Creek Foundation will hold a reverse drawing April 25 for the purpose of supporting students in the Indian Creek Local School District.

The annual event will take place at the Knights of Columbus hall in Mingo Junction.

Tickets are available for $60 per person, with the cost covering dinner and the evening’s drawing.

There have been 250 tickets printed, according to organizers, who noted additional guests may attend on the ticket at the cost of $30 per person.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a cash bar, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The drawing will be held following dinner.

Superintendent T.C. Chappelear explained the event will include plenty of opportunities to win prizes and cash.

“The reverse drawing will have a Chinese drawing, gift baskets and a $2,500 grand prize,” Chappelear stated. “It is a reverse drawing and the last ticket available wins the money.”

The ticket holder does not need to be available for the grand prize drawing; however, that individual must forfeit their right to vote, officials stated.

The fundraiser, which has been held for approximately two decades, has generated more than $10,000 every year it is held, officials commented.

Organizers said 100 people usually attend the function, although twice as many tickets are sold.

“The funding goes to scholarships for students and school projects,” Chappelear continued. “It has helped the students attend technology camps and the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Program, and helped purchase a laser printer for the high school engineering department. It supports projects and programs that benefit Indian Creek students.”
