Library to offer menstrual, menopause programs
STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County will offer a series of programs called EveryBody Care, which supports wellness and accessibility. The series is for all ages and made possible through a Know Your Flow Ohio grant.
In addition to a menstrual product dispenser and hygiene supplies, the library received $1,000 toward supplies. As part of the grant, the library will create health programs focusing on menstrual hygiene, education and menopausal health information.
Those interested can take part in one or all of the following programs, including “Nourish and Thrive: Women’s Health through Food,” set for 6:30 p.m. May 12 at the Main Library.
Angela Icuss Lombardo, owner of Fresh Twist, will host a workshop on hormone-balancing foods. Learn how to detox and nourish your body with simple, healthy recipes. Samples will be available. Register by calling (740) 282-9782.
The program “Sync and Stretch,” is set for 6:30 p.m. May 14 at the Main Library. Lindsay Schooler from Happy Goat Yoga will instruct the class designed to support women’s overall well-being throughout their natural cycles. The session will focus on movement and relaxation techniques that align with different phases of energy and balance. All experience levels are welcome to attend.
The program “The Hot Topic: Navigating Perimenopause and Menopause,” is scheduled for 6 p.m. May 15 at the Main Library. Feeling hot, tired or a little out of sorts? You are not alone. Gynecologist Dr. Rachel Gilman from CHANGE Inc. will help to understand symptoms and explore self-care tips and resources at the library.

“Back to Basics: Your Natural Cycle Explained,” will be the program at 6:30 p.m. on May 19 at the Main Library. Get to know your cycle naturally and learn how to track your menstrual cycle, while understanding the natural changes that happen in your body. This program is for women and young teens who want to feel empowered and in tune with their bodies, officials said.
Free menstrual products will be available to take home.
