International Seniors talk tours

WEIRTON -- The International Senior Club met May 13 at Undo's. Patty Coppa led the prayer and blessing. President Regina Truax led the pledge. Members sang "God Bless America," then enjoyed a sit-down dinner, after which Truax introduced new members Randy and Linda Yandi. Secretary Rita Orler read the minutes and Linda Pfabe read the treasurer's report.

Truax reminded members canned goods will be collected for the Salvation Army at the next meeting on June 10. Happy birthday was sung to those celebrating a May birthday, including James Cerra, Leonard Ginier, Chuck Elliott, Laura Mamula, Terry Mamula and Joyce Dobbs. Barbara Purks sent a get-well card to Dino Rossi and sympathy cards to Flo Virtue, Barbara Guglielmo and Norma Henson. Liz Beecroft told members the joke of the day.

The following bus tours were announced: Meadows Casino, Washington, Pa., June 11; Sugarcreek, June 27; "Sister Act," Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, Midland, Pa., June 29; Hartville Market Place and Flea Market, Hartsville, July 18; Pittsburgh Pirates vs Chicago White Sox, PNC Park, Pittsburgh, July 20; Everett Railroad and Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, Hollidaysburg, Pa., and Cumberland, Md., July 23-25; Seneca Resorts and Casino, Niagara Falls, Sept. 24-26; and Rock and Roll Doo Wop No. 27, Capitol Theater, Wheeling, Oct. 4. The 50/50 drawing was won by Gene Viola. Undo's gift certificates were won by Tom Beecroft and Purks. A memorial wreath made by Truax was won by Linda Aloi. Nancy Ramsey helped with the door prizes of flowers from Iannetti's Garden Center. Winners were Nancy Lellie, Pfabe, Carol Wisnieski, Laura Mamula, Marlene Dunn, Ginier, Elba Hada, Cel Findley, Beecroft, Rose Pulice, Truax and Dean Ligas.
