Class of ’67 to meet

WEIRTON — The Weir High School Class of 1967 will hold its monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Mexican restaurant Chico Fiesta, located at 3110 Pennsylvania Ave. in Weirton.

All classmates, along with their spouses, are welcome to attend.

Peach Festival seeking vendors

WEIRTON — St. Thomas Episcopal Church, located on Three Springs Drive in Weirton, will hold its annual Peach Festival from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 9 at the church.

Organizers are looking for anyone who is a vendor or crafter and would like to display their items during the event.

Book club to meet

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library Book Club will meet in person and virtually at 5 p.m. July 31 to discuss “Help for the Haunted,” by John Searles.

Participants will also receive the book they will be discussing next month.

Library to host science program

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library will host an interactive science program for youth at 5 p.m. July 24.

The program will be presented by Science Heroes.

During the interactive 45 minute show, volunteers will help the presenter conduct science experiments involving chemical reactions, the transfer of energy, explosions and changing states of matter.

Ken Nicholas, creative director of Science Heroes, stated, “Our summer reading show combines the magic of stories with the wonders of science to get kids excited about learning. Our hope is to inspire the next generation of science heroes, one library at a time.”

Program to mix story and painting

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library is inviting visitors to hear the story “I Aint’t Gonna Paint No More!” at 11 a.m. July 22.

Participants will have the opportunity to create their own mini painting after hearing the story, library officials noted.

The program will be free of charge. Registration is required.
