WMC Auxiliary to hold sale

WEIRTON — The Weirton Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Robert’s uniform sale, featuring all types of favorite fashion brands in scrubs, accessories, shoes and more.

The sale will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday inside the medical center’s atrium, located on Colliers Way.

Museum to hold ice cream social

TORONTO — In observance of National Ice Cream Day, the Historical Society of Toronto will hold an ice cream social from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The event will take place inside the Main Street Museum, located in the Karaffa Recreation Center on Dennis Way.

During the social, the museum will have quilts and needlepoint on display, with each being tied to a story regarding its connection to the city.

Vitalant schedules blood drives

WHEELING — A patient requires life-saving blood every two seconds in the United States. Those at Vitalant are asking eligible donors to visit one of its upcoming blood drives to ensure there will not be a summer blood shortage. Officials explained many donors are vacationing or busy with summer plans, unable to give blood as they normally would.

Anyone eligible to give is asked to attend any of the following local drives: Follansbee Community House, 1440 Main St., Follansbee, 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., July 23; Hampton Inn meeting room, 67806 Mall Ring Road, St. Clairsville, 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., July 31; Wheeling Fire Department training room, 1700 Wood St., Wheeling, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., July 23; and Easter Seals, 1305 National Road, St. Clairsville, noon to 5 p.m., July 30.

Anybody who donates blood through July 31 will be enrolled in a contest to win a car of their choice, according to Vitalant officials. JCVA to hold picnic

SMITHFIELD — The Jefferson County Veterans Association will hold its annual free picnic for veterans and active military members from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 26 at shelters 1, 2 and 3 in Friendship Park.

Organizers announced guests will help in celebrating the JCVA’s 30th anniversary, as well as recognizing the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.

Thomas Graham will perform the singing of the national anthem. Patriotic music will be performed by the Tri-State Community Band. Hamburgers, hot dogs, fried chicken, desserts and cold beverages will be served. Enjoy the camaraderie of fellow veterans, family members and friends during the afternoon event.

Attendees can enter into a drawing where the winner will receive three commemorative medallions. The medallions are depicted to recognize the Victory in Europe, the Victory in Japan and the celebration of the end of the war. The drawing will be held at 3:30 p.m.

Class of 1975 to hold reunion

STEUBENVILLE — The Steubenville High School Class of 1975 will hold its 50th class reunion, with an icebreaker set for 8 p.m. on Sept. 5 at Seven Ranges Entertainment Center, located at the Fort Steuben Mall.

The reunion and dinner will take place at Froehlich’s Classic Corner on Sept. 6. Information can be found on the Steubenville High School Class of 1975 Facebook page.
