Concert on the Hill to mark 20 years
MOUNT PLEASANT — The 20th-annual Concert on the Hill is set to take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 24 at the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Pleasant.
The concert is a celebration of various types of Christian music, organizers explained.
The event will be free of charge, as there is no admission fee, parking fee or cost to enjoy snacks and soft drinks that will be offered.
Held on the lawn behind the church, located at 123 Union St., this year’s lineup will be headlined by Tim Graves and the Farm Hands — a Grammy Award-winning Bluegrass group from Nashville.
Joining the Farm Hands will be the Ron Retzer Trio.
Other performers to take the stage will include JoAnn Copeland, who has performed at the Jamboree in the Hills event; the Rev. Michael Tolliver of New Beginning Church in Bellaire and Elisha Fletcher, a Steubenville resident who won the Valley’s Got Talent competition.
Games and activities will be available for children’s enjoyment, organizers stated.
The Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church is one of the oldest churches in the area, established in 1798.
The small country church has approximately 40 people attending its Sunday worship services, officials noted.
Attendees will have the choice of sitting underneath one of the tents that will be provided, or to sit out in the open lawn.
Visitors are asked to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on for the shows, as well bringing along family and friends to enjoy the musical guests.
