Four Seasons Senior Club meets

WEIRTON — Members of the Four Seasons Senior Club met for their monthly meeting July 16 at Giovanni’s restaurant in Weirton. President Gene Viola called the meeting to order.

Tony LaRosa gave the opening prayer, led in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and led the singing of “God Bless America.”

Phyllis Koloppajlo was introduced as a guest.

Chuck Lucas provided the club’s entertainment.

Barbara Gugliemo won the 50/50 drawing. Door prizes were awarded to Joanne Llewellyn, Mike Rowland, Koloppajlo, Jerry Williams and Jeannette Panebianco.

Valerie and Mike Rowland were recognized for celebrating their 53rd anniversary.

The secretary’s report was given by Valerie Rowland. The treasurer’s report was provided by Josie Cekinovich.

Under new business, suggestions were made regarding the club and how to better its services, offerings.

Valerie Rowland asked about changing the meeting’s start time from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Members voted down the idea, officials noted.

Members suggested when playing bingo, charge $1 to play three games.

Money-making ideas included Nancey Ramsey offering to make candy for Christmas and Easter.

It was announced nominations for club officers will be coming up at a future meeting. Dinners will increase in cost beginning Aug. 6, with members to pay $22. A brown bag auction will be held during the Aug. 27 meeting at Undo’s. There will be a $5 minimum for auction items.

LaRosa gave the closing prayer prior to members adjourning.
