Master classes being offered

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Ballet Theater has announced its 2025-26 master class series. Classes will be taught by company artists and artistic staff.

Each class will include a question and answer period with the PBT teaching artist following the class. Classes are offered monthly and begin on Sept. 9.

“This is an amazing opportunity for Pittsburgh-area dancers to learn from the same professional dancers they have watched onstage for years,” said Raymond Rodriguez, dean of the school. “We are delighted to be able to support the growth of local dancers and help to enhance their ballet skills through this program.”

The series provides a unique opportunity for students to learn from esteemed company artists and the artistic staff of PBT.

Master classes are an integral part of dance training, as they support dancers in developing their technique and artistry, while introducing them to various dance methods, Rodriguez said. The series is designed for dancers ages 14 and older, with intermediate to advanced level dance experience.

Classes will be taught at the theater’s studios on selected dates, beginning at 6:15 p.m.

Classes are $35 each or $300 for the series of nine classes. Due to space limitations, registrations will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

To register for the master class series, visit pbt.org/master-classes.

This season, classes take place from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., followed by a question and answer session from 7:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Classes will be held Sept. 9, Oct. 7, Nov. 11, Dec. 9, Jan. 13, Feb. 10, March 10, April 7 and May 12.
