BLOOMINGDALE — Members of the Wintersville High School Class of ’90 created the group Warriors for Willy.

The group will hold a fundraiser for Wintersville resident Willy Pierce, who is battling diabetes, at 4 p.m. Aug. 9 at Aladdin Shrine, a venue located at 6355 township Road 166 in Bloomingdale.

A cornhole tournament is scheduled for 4 p.m. Signups will begin at 3 p.m.

The event will include a 50/50 drawing, Chinese auction, gun drawing, food and cash bar. All of the proceeds raised will go to Pierce to help with medical expenses.

According to those close to the event, Pierce has been in and out of hospitals since December and could potentially lose his leg if doctors are unable to control his wounds. The public is invited to attend.
