The 154th-annual Jefferson County Fair concluded its events Saturday, including the announcement of this year’s Most Outstanding Exhibitor contestants. The winning youth battled all year in the areas of Ohio Achievement Form, Project Book, species interview, species clinic and showmanship, to earn their title. This year’s award recipients were congratulated by the Ohio Fair’s queen, Amberly Szczerbiak, who took photos with each contestant. Szczerbiak visited the Jefferson County Fair Saturday for the awards ceremony and livestock sale — which is one of the largest events of the week. All of the awards were sponsored by Murrays Restaurant in Wintersville. The Most Outstanding Exhibitors included, from left, Autumn Grafton, 4-H Varieties, rabbit; Ava Aftanas, Cross Creek Tomahawks 4-H Club, swine; Leila Sudvary, Broken Fences 4-H Club, goat; Braelyn Carpenter, Golden Horseshoe 4-H Club, dog; Cyden Wood, Banners and Buckles 4-H Club, beef; Kaitlynn Merkel, Country Rangers 4-H Club, sheep; Delia Wetherell, Liberty Gals and Guys 4-H Club, dairy, whose brother Andrew Wetherall accepted on her behalf; and Mihaela Petric, Town amd Country 4-H Club, horse and poultry categories.
