Cadiz Women’s Golf League
The ladies of the Cadiz Women’s Golf League met for play Aug. 19. Hostesses were Kathy Newburn and Tracy Amos.
The Play of the Day was “Subtract the Three Chosen Scores.”
Winners were: Kathy Newburn, A Flight; Kathy Smith, B Flight; and Pat Roper, C Flight.
Low putt winners included: Roberta Cireddu, Donna Griffin and Roper.
Player who had a birdie were: Newburn, Smith and Griffin.
Players who had chip-ins included: Newburn, Smith, Sandy Terek, Tracy Amos and Griffin.
Town and Country Ladies League
The Town and Country Ladies Golf League played its annual away scramble at Beaver Meadows on Aug. 21.
The first-place foursome consisted of Signa Findlay, Marilyn Crew, Debbie Hendricks and Michele Purviance.
Second place was the team of Kathy Antinone, Diane Vandine, Toni Dondzila and Norma Henson.
Two teams tied for third place, including the team of Dorothy Baierd, Vicki Broska, Rose Kaczmarek and Nancy Lellie; and the team of Cathy Jackson, Linda Staffilino, Pat Zorne and Shirley Guida.
The winners of the longest drive on the hole No. 1 were: Antinone, A Flight; Purviance, B Flight; and Guida, C Flight.
Crew, Henson and Lellie had the longest drive on hole No. 4.
Spring Hills Ladies League
Members of the Spring Hills Ladies Golf League met for play Aug. 21. The Play of the Day was “Throw Out the S’s.”
Play of the Day winners included: Veronica Foldi, A Flight; Brenda McCloskey, B Flight; and Tammy Cox, C Flight.
The winners for longest drive were: Neysa McCart, A Flight; and Vickie Grant, B Flight.
Winners of closest to the pin were: Ruth Reese, A Flight; Linda Caputo, B Flight; and Cox, C Flight.
Grant had a chip-in on hole No. 13.
Tammy Jackson was a guest for the day.
Highland Springs Ladies League
The women of the Highland Springs Ladies Golf League played the back nine holes on Monday.
The Play of the Day was a scramble. The winning team included Yuko Atwell, Denise Augustine and Brenda McCloskey.
The winner of the longest drive on hole No. 6 was Laura Froehlich.
The winner for closest to the pin on second shot on hole No. 14 was Veronica Foldi.
League play will not be held Monday due to the Labor Day holiday.
The nine-hole league is open to all women golfers. Play is held each Monday from May through September at Highland Springs Golf Course in Wellsburg. Tee-off begins at 4:30 p.m. throughout September.
