Alpha Tau Chapter looks at upcoming year

NEW CUMBERLAND — The Alpha Tau Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary for Women Educators met for its September meeting at the Swaney Memorial Library, with the group called to order by President-Elect Michelle Lewis.
The thought for the day was given by Chaplain Kathy Griffith.
Secretary Mary Lou Martindill distributed the minutes of the chapter’s May meeting, as well as from the executive board meeting. Both were approved. Treasurer Velda Icard gave the financial report. Committee reports were presented.
A fraternity education activity was given by Chairman Susan Gracie and Rita Schmitt.
The group discussed upcoming altruistic projects, including fundraisers for the chapter scholarship. Those in attendance reviewed the yearly program booklet and updated membership information on the international website.
Members were encouraged to attend the Ohio Valley District meeting in October. The meeting will be held in Wheeling. Alpha Tau Immediate Past President Amy Hannahs serves as the district chairperson.
Hostesses for the meeting were Martindill and Hannahs. Members participated in welcome back activities, while enjoying refreshments. The next meeting will be held Oct. 14.
