Spring Hills Ladies Golf

Members of the Spring Hills Ladies Golf League played the Play of the Day, “Low Gross,” on Tuesday, due to rain on its regularly-scheduled day.

The winners of the Play of the Day were: Cynde Vidas, A Flight; Linda Caputo, B Flight; and Tammy Cox, C Flight.

The winners of the longest drive were: Ruth Reese, A Flight; Pat Carey, B Flight; and Patty Gerlando, C Flight.

The winners of closest to the pin were: Veronica Foldi, A Flight; and Brenda McCloskey, B Flight.

Gerlando had a birdie on hole No. 9. Caputo, Vidas and Cox had chip-ins.

Highland Springs Ladies League

The women of the Highland Springs Ladies Golf League played the front nine holes on Monday.

The Play of the Day was “Throw Out Your Worst Two Holes.” Winners of the Play of the Day were: Laura Froehlich, first place; Brenda McCloskey, second place; and Tammy Cox, third place.

Tammy Koutsky had the longest drive on hole No. 3. Veronica Foldi was closest to the pin on her second shot on hole No. 8.

Froehlich took the prize for low putts and had a chip-in birdie on hole No. 6.

This nine-hole league is open to all women golfers. Play is held each Monday from May through September at the Highland Springs Golf Course in Wellsburg. Tee-off begins at 4:30 p.m. starting in September. To sign up, call the club house on the day of play by 3:30 p.m. at (304) 737-2201.
