“Blessings Fall from Heaven” was the theme of Oct. 16 meeting of the Disciples Women. Members met in the Fellowship Hall of Weirton’s First Christian Church where President Janet Rymer welcomed members. Secretary Karen Blanc gave a blessing before the meal, Roberta Fedoush led in the singing of “Count your Blessings,” and Vice President Susan Brown discussed the topic “Ice Breakers on Prayers.” A devotion was given by Treasurer Connie Norwood and Blanc provided details about the women’s retreat at North Bend. Fedoush sang “In This Very Room.” Guest speaker Patricia D’Aurora, secretary of the Cancer Dietary Institute, spoke about the CDI, which provides meals to more than 70 cancer patients every month. First Christian Church donated more than 300 pouches of tuna andf gave a monetary donation to the cause. A unison prayer closed the meeting. Following the meeting, the group’s officers thanked D’Aurora for speaking about the program. The women included, from left, D’Aurora, Rymer, Brown, Norwood and Blanc.
