Library announces events

STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has announced its upcoming events and activities for the week of Oct. 19-25 at branches throughout the area. Those wanting to attend any of the activities should call and reserve a seat, unless otherwise stated.

Main Library (740) 282-9782

Children: Paint and Snack will be held at 6 p.m. on Oct. 20. The event is for children ages 5-11. Register to attend.

Brilliant Branch (740) 314-4309

Children: Listen to stories and sing songs during Tot Time, set to be held at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 23. The activity is for parents who have children between the ages of 2 and 4. Registration is required.

Adults: Get your flu shot from the Jefferson County General Health District from 11 a.m. to noon on Oct. 23. An insurance card and photo ID are required. Vaccines will be available for uninsured individuals.

Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant Branch (740) 314-4310

Adults: Join us to discuss “Jane Eyre,” by Charlotte Bronte, at 10 a.m. Oct. 21.

Teens: Make a dog using yarn at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 20. Register to participate.

Children: Play with toys that promote letter knowledge during Play and Learn the Alphabet at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 23. This hour of play is for parents who have children ages 2-6.

Make a Halloween craft with the Ohio State University Extension office at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 23.

Adults: StayTuned@PLSJ will continue with a movie about soul music. The film will be shown at 5 p.m. Oct. 23. Register to save a seat and discover the title.

Friends of the PLSJ will have its monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 22.

Children: Pick up a grab-and-go fall craft beginning Oct. 20, available while supplies last.
