Camera Club names top finishers
WINTERSVILLE — The Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club met for its monthly photo competition Tuesday.
Those participating in the contest met at Two Ridges Presbyterian Church, located at 1085 Canton Road in Wintersville for the November event.
Competitions took place in various photography categories, including the two colors category. The top finishers in this event included: John Hanish, first place; Sue Adey, second place; and Diane Bannister and Dave Rees, who tied for third place.
In the open category, top finishers included: Adey, first place; Andy Tindor, second place; and Hanish, third place.
There was a tie for first place between Sharon Slokan and Rees in the category for special effects, according to organizers.
Rees was announced as the second-place top finisher in the category as well. Lisa Carte was the third-place top finisher.
The camera club meets on the first and third Tuesday of every month. During the first Tuesday meeting, the day is devoted to learning.
On the third Tuesday of the month, members take part in a competition which involves multiple categories they can enter.
The Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club welcomes anyone interested in photography to join its membership.
Officials explained they are always accepting new members to join the group, whether one chooses to use a camera phone to take photographs or use a standard digital camera.
The next club meeting is scheduled to be held on Dec. 2.
The group meets in the social hall of Two Ridges Presbyterian Church, located on the lower level. The meeting will be centered around the club’s annual Christmas party.
The event begins at 6 p.m.
