Christian school performs for veterans
The Jefferson County Christian School recognized local veterans during a special chapel held Friday morning. There were 28 veterans in attendance. Following a welcome and prayer, the presentation of colors and national anthem began the program. A salute to the armed forces was conducted by the middle and high school choir. The elementary choir sang “God Bless America.” The guest speaker was Army veteran Scott Adams, alumni parent and former school board chairman. Adams served in the Army reserves, noting his unit was activated following 9/11. He did a tour in Iraq, he told the audience.
