Free sandwich for veterans, Tuesday

PITTSBURGH — Active and retired military personnel can enjoy a free Primanti Bros. Almost Famous sandwich in honor of their service to America on Tuesday at all Primanti Bros. locations across Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.

The offer is available for dine-in service only.

“We are honored to be able to serve retired and active military in our restaurants every day,” said Ryan Wilkinson, Primanti Bros. employee. “Many of our customers have dedicated themselves to protecting freedom around the world, and we’re privileged to be able to thank them in this small way on Veterans Day.”

Church to hold dinner for veterans

WINTERSVILLE — Wintersville Methodist Church will offer a free dinner to all area veterans and their spouses from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

The event will be held in the Center for Hope, located at 702 Main St. in Wintersville.

Guest to speak on good character

STEUBENVILLE — The Jefferson County Juvenile Task Force has teamed with Seven Ranges Entertainment to bring motivational speaker David Kohout to the business, located at the Fort Steuben Mall.

Kohout will speak from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, addressing adults about leading a life of good character and setting an example for the youth in their lives. Admission is free for everyone. Refreshments will be provided. Children accompanied by adults will be treated to free fun while there.

A Boardman resident, Kohout has spoken at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the Coast Guard Academy, several colleges and more than 900 school districts throughout the U.S. and abroad. He is the co-author of “Standing in the Presence of Greatness: Discover Seven Real Life Accounts of Greatness Along My Journey Thus Far.”

PERI to meet

STEUBENVILLE — PERI will hold its next meeting at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Froehlich’s Classic Corner, located at 501 Washington St. in Steubenville.

The guest speaker will be Tracy McManamon of One Source Benefits, who will discuss changes to Medicare in 2026, Medicare Advantage plans, prescription plans and Medicare supplemental plans.

Seven Ranges to meet

WINTERSVILLE — The Seven Ranges Joint Fire District will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the 911 office, located at 300 Airport Road.

Camera club announces winners

WINTERSVILLE — The Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club announced the top finishers in the October competition which featured the theme Landscape.

Top finishers in the theme category included: Gary Churella, first place; John Hanish, second place; and Sue Adey and Dave Rees, third-place tie.

Top finishers in the open category were: Lisa Carte, first place; Jenny Riegler, second place; and Churella, third place. In the special effects category, top finishers were: Sharon Slokan and Andy Tindor, first-place tie; Barb Momyer, second place; and Carte, third place.

The Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club welcomes anyone who has an interest in photography to join. Whether using a camera or a cell phone, all are welcome to attend the meetings. The club’s next meeting is scheduled at 7 p.m. Nov. 18 at Two Ridges Presbyterian Church, located at 1085 Canton Road in Wintersville. Meetings take place in the lower level social hall.

Class of ’67 to meet

WEIRTON — Weir High School’s Class of 1967 will hold its monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 19 at Dee Jay’s, located at 380 Three Springs Drive in Weirton.

All classmates are invited to attend, along with their spouses.

Book Club to meet

WELLSBURG — A group of friends, a good book and free-flowing discussion are the ingredients for an enjoyable experience at the Brooke County Public Library.

Book Club will meet in-person and virtually at 5 p.m. Nov. 20 to discuss the book “When the English Fall” by David Williams. Guests will receive November’s book at the meeting. The club is free to join and open to the public. A meeting ID and password can be obtained for those wanting to attend from home.

Church to offer Thanksgiving dinner

STEUBENVILLE — Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church will hold a free Thanksgiving dinner from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 30 at the church, located at 300 S. Fourth St. in Steubenville. Dinner is dine-in only, organizers stated, noting carry out or delivery will not be available at this time.

Church to hold Christmas Bazaar

BRILLIANT — The Brilliant United Methodist Church will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 13 at the church, located at 525 LaBelle St. in Brilliant. The event will include the sale of nutrolls, cookies, fudge and crafts.
