Those involved with the Weirton All Saints Greek Orthodox Church Women’s Society, Philoptochos, donated to various Brooke and Hancock county charities, nonprofit agencies and groups who are in need during the Thanksgiving season. Among those who received assistance were Weirton Elementary School and Brooke High School. Organizers explained $500 worth of items were given to the Weirton Elementary, including shirts and pants for pupils who may be in need. The Philoptochos Society donated to Bruins Helping Bruins at Brooke High, donating $500 worth of hats, gloves and scarves for the winter season. The school’s clothing pantry serves its students in need.
