Club chorus to practice
WHEELING — Chorus practice for the Thursday Music Club began Jan. 14 at the Elm Grove United Methodist Church for the upcoming spring concert, which has been scheduled for April 9.
Practices are led by Director Anita Chops, who is accompanied by Debbie Breiding on piano.
Practices continue from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays.

The Thursday Music Club youth auditions will be held this year on March 20-21 at Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Teachers will be contacted soon, according to officials.
Anyone who does not hear from Chops about the auditions and who would like to participate, is asked to contact her at the number listed.
Chops said she loves hearing about teachers and students wishing to participate.
The recital for students earning a superior and superior with honors ratings will be presented on March 29 at Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Mardi Gras fundraiser set
WEIRTON — The Weirton Heights Rotary Club and Weirton Christian Center have announced a special Mardi Gras fundraiser will be held Feb. 21 at the Pepsi-Cola Roadhouse, located on 565 state Route 18 in Burgettstown.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
Attendees must be 21 years of age to attend the event, organizers noted.
Games and drawings will take place throughout the evening.
Music will be provided by Jonathan Mihellis of Finest Entertainment.
A portion of the proceeds raised from the event will be used to help benefit the Weirton Christian Center and its preschool and after-school progams, officials stated.
