Library announces activities

STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has announced its upcoming activities and events for the week of Jan. 25-31.

Those who are interested in participating in any of the following is asked to call the respective branch and register so as to ensure a seat.

Main Library (740) 282-9782

Adults: Book club will meet at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 28 to discuss the book “Heart the Lover,” by Lily King. Call to join the club.

The Books on Tap Book Club will hold its next meeting at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Hightower Brewing Co. Call the library to find out what they club will be discussing.

Brilliant Branch (740) 314-4309

Adults: Book club will meet at 6 p.m. Jan. 26 to discuss the book “Remarkably Bright Creatures,” by Shelby Van Pelt. Call to join the club.

Children: Play and Learn the Alphabet will be held for parents and their children who range in age from 2 through 6. The activity which allows children to play with toys that promote alphabet knowledge will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 27.

Adults: The Thriller Book Club will meet at 10 a.m. Jan. 27 to discuss the book “The Winter People,” by Jennifer McMahon. Call to join the club.

Adults: Read “Once There Were Wolves,” by Charlotte McConaghy to discuss during book club, scheduled to be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 27. Call to join.

Adults: Read and discuss “The Maid’s Diary,” by Loreth Anne White for this month’s Thriller Book Club. Members will meet at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 27. Call to join the discussion.

Children: Play and Learn the Alphabet will be offered for parents who have children between the ages of 2 and 6. The activity in which children will play with toys that promote alphabet knowledge will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 26.

Children: Introduce your child to the library at an early age through the Play and Learn the Alphabet program. Created for parents who have children between the ages of birth to 4, the activity offers an opportunity to play with toys which promote alphabet knowledge. The next event will take place at 11 a.m. Jan. 29.
