Library announces events
STEUBENVILLE — Ever fall in love at first page? Go on a Blind Date with a Book between Feb. 9 through Feb. 14 at the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County.
Adults are encouraged to visit the checkout desk at the library, choose a mystery book, borrow it and unwrap it at home to discover what you will be reading. Who knows? You may fall in love at the library.

Adults: The Mystery Book Club will meet at 11 a.m. Feb. 9 to discuss “Buried in a Good Book,” by Tamara Berry. Call to join the club.
Children: Join us for Tot Time to hear stories, sing songs and participate in activities. Tot Time is for children between the ages of 2 and 4, along with their parents. Classes will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays, including Feb. 10, Feb. 17 and Feb. 24; at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays, including Feb. 11, Feb. 18 and Feb. 25; and at 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays, including Feb. 12, Feb. 19 and Feb. 26.
Play Valentine’s Bingo at 6 p.m. Feb. 9. This fun event will feature prizes and snacks.

Adults: Make a candy craft for your valentine at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 9. Register to attend this Sweet as Candy program.
Ready. Set. Action. The library’s first film feature for the Ohio Goes to the Movies event will debut at 1 p.m. on Feb. 12. As part of the statewide event, movie-goers will receive a bag of goodies. To find out what will be playing and to register, call the library to reserve your seat.

Children: Introduce your baby to the library and to literacy during Babygarten, a lap-sit program for parents and caregivers and their babies, ages birth to 2. Babygarten will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursdays, including Feb. 12 and Feb. 26.
Teens: Pick up supplies to make a stress ball using water beads. This grab-and-go craft is available on Feb. 11, while supplies last.

Adults: Swap a work of art for a new painting at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 12. Call the library for information and to register.
Read the book “Things You Save in a Fire,” by Katherine Center. Then, discuss the work during book club, scheduled to be held at 10 a.m. Feb. 10. Call to join.

Register to attend Babygarten, a lap-sit program for parents and caregivers and their children, ages birth to 2. Babygarten includes stories and songs and will take place at 11 a.m. Feb. 9.
Teens: Celebrate National Bubble Gum Day and make slime that looks like the chewable treat at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 10. The activity is for those between the ages of 10 and 18. Register to attend.
