DAR contest held at Harding

Harding Middle School students in grades fifth through eighth submitted projects in the local annual contest held by the Daughters of the American Revolution. The students received first-, second- and third-place recognition for their entries. This year’s theme was “Celebrating 250 Years of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness: Happy Birthday, America!” Students chose which contest to enter, having the choice of the following categories: Poster, stamp design, banner, photo essay, digital art, short story, poem, community service and comic strip. Officials noted the Harding students will not have their projects competing in the regional competition. DAR members congratulated and thanked each student for taking the time to compete in the event to honor America.
