Scholarship applications still available

STEUBENVILLE — Anita Jackson dedicated her life and career to making Jefferson County a better place for working, learning and living.

A member of numerous educational, religious and public service organizations throughout the community, Jackson held many board and trustee positions throughout the years.

Recipients of her scholarship should have her same desire and passion for community service. The scholarship is open to all students who will graduate from a Jefferson County school.

Applicants must include proof of 60 hours of community service, (a mixture of types of community service is recommended.)

School sanctioned service does not apply.

Proof of grade-point average with a minimum of 2.5.

A 250-word essay describing why community service is important to you and two letters of recommendation, one from a current teacher and one from a community leader.
