Mingo Junction meeting set
MINGO JUNCTION — Village Council has scheduled a safety committee meeting for Tuesday at 6p.m.
Council’s business meeting will follow at 7 p.m. in the municipal building, 501 Commercial St.
Camera club names contest winners
WINTERSVILLE — The Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club held its monthly competition Tuesday.
The monthly named category was “High Angle.” UOVCC holds meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month. The first Tuesday is a learning meeting and the third Tuesday is a competition. There will be a powerpoint presentation on April 7 titled “The Art of Photography,” highlighting helpful instruction for photography. The titled category for April is “E is for ———-” with the competition meeting to be held April 21.
Meetings are held at 6 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Two Ridges Presbyterian Church. The club welcomes anyone who has an interest in photography. All cameras are acceptable, including smartphones.

Quarter auction to benefit fair
WELLSBURG — A quarter auction to benefit the Brooke County Fair will be held April 19 at the Wellsburg Moose Lodge.
Doors open at 12:30 p.m., with the bidding to begin at 1:30 p.m. The event also will include drawings, food for sale and free prizes.
Admission is $5, which includes one paddle for bidding. Additional paddles will be available for $1 each at the door.
Those who purchase tickets before April 1 will be entered into a special prize drawing. Seats will be reserved for groups of six or more who purchase advance tickets.
The tickets may be purchased at the Brooke Hills Park clubhouse, brookecountyfair.com, from any fair committee member or at the door.

Part of Halls Road to close
A portion of Brooke County Route 1/7 (Halls Road) in Colliers from milepost 1.0 to milepost 1.72 will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning on Monday, March 23, through Wednesday, March 25, for tree trimming. Emergency vehicles and school buses will be accommodated. Motorists are advised to slow down and expect delays.
Alternate routes include ounty Route 12 (Mechling Hill Road) or County Route 27 (Eldersville Road).
Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.
