Brooke teachers are state officers
WELLSBURG — Two Brooke County math teachers have secured seats on the West Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics board following elections held at the organization’s annual conference.
Dana Stoll, a math teacher at Brooke Middle School, was re-elected vice president of elementary, and Karen Keener, who teaches math at Brooke High School, was elected vice president of secondary, joining the board for her first term.
With Stoll’s continued service and Keener’s election, Brooke County Schools has three educators on the WVCTM board, as Jami Packer, who also teaches at Brooke Middle School, currently serves as president of the organization.
The West Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics is a professional organization dedicated to promoting excellence in mathematics education across the state.
Lions convention to be held
BRILLIANT — Members of the Brilliant Lions Club will be represented at the District 3 convention at the Greystone Event Center in Wooster.
International Director David Wineman and Lindy Wineman are expected to be a part of the event, which is scheduled to be held Friday and Saturday.
Lamont and Esther McCoy of Smithfield will attend the convention.
