Lift every voice: Steubenville event promises evening of gospel celebration

STEUBENVILLE — Music, worship and community fellowship will take center stage June 7 as the Sycamore Youth Center hosts Gospel Night 2026, a free outdoor concert bringing together local and regional gospel artists, worship teams, choirs and musicians for an evening of faith and encouragement.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. June 7 at the Louis Berkman Amphitheater in Steubenville and is open to the public free of charge.

Sponsored by the Sycamore Youth Center, Gospel Night 2026 aims to unite people across the Ohio Valley through music and worship while highlighting regional gospel talent.

“This is about bringing people together for a positive evening of faith, fellowship and encouragement,” said Bobbyjon Bauman, executive director of the Sycamore Youth Center. “There is so much musical talent in the Ohio Valley, and we wanted to create an event where churches, families and community members could gather together and simply enjoy an uplifting night centered on faith and community.”

The evening will feature performances by Friends Vocal Group, MoTruth, Elisa Morris, Elisha Fletcher, Impact Church Worship Team, Evan Conn, Lynzee Ensell, Jovie Kelly, Tammy Spicer, Wilbert Knight, Kaleb Kibble, Crossroads North River Worship Team, Crossroads Church Worship Team, Tree of Life Choir, Ichthus, Weirton Covenant Praise Team, Calvary Community Missionary Baptist Church Choir and the Honky Tonk Sweethearts.

Several “Valley’s Got Talent” winners also will perform, including Elisha Fletcher, Jovie Kelly and Lynzee Ensell.

Bauman said organizers hope the event offers something for everyone, with gospel styles ranging from worship teams and choirs to solo artists and vocal groups.

“We want people to leave encouraged,” Bauman said. “Whether someone attends church every week or simply wants to come enjoy good music and community fellowship, everyone is welcome. We believe events like this strengthen the Ohio Valley and remind us of the importance of faith, hope and coming together.”

Community members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and invite family and friends for what organizers hope becomes a summer tradition.

“Our valley has tremendous people and tremendous talent,” Bauman said. “This is an opportunity to celebrate both while lifting up the name of Jesus together in a family-friendly atmosphere.”

Admission is free.
