Cross Creek meeting set

WINTERSVILLE — Cross Creek Township will have a special meeting at 4 p.m. Monday at the township office, 1267 Cadiz Road.

The meeting will be to take care of billing and to sign checks.

Strawberry festival in Brilliant

BRILLIANT — Brilliant Methodist Church will hold its annual strawberry festival June 3, organizer have announced.

Being held in conjunction with the Wells Township Independence Day celebration, the festival will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. behind Buckeye North Elementary School.

International Senior Club meets

WEIRTON — The International Senior Club met on June 9 at Undo’s in Weirton.

Patty Coppa led the prayer and blessing. Gene Viola led the Pledge of Allegiance followed by members singing “God Bless America.” A buffet dinner and desserts were enjoyed by the members.

Liz Beecroft introduced guests Janet Backel and Keith LeRoy. New members introduced were Elaine Briceland, Karen Welsh and Bobie Koltz. There was no formal meeting held, but members were reminded that the annual picnic will be held in July.

“Happy Birthday” was sung to the June members, Marcia Golonkle, Elaine Briceland, Nancy Lellie, Dean Ligias, Linda Phabe, guest Keith LeRoy and Regina Truax. Liz Beecroft and Rena Konkle gave the jokes of the day.

The following bus tours were announced, including June 28, “Legally Blonde,” Lincoln Park Performing Arts, Midland, Pa.; July 17, Hartsville Marketplace and Flee Market, Hartsville; July 21, Meadows Hollywood Casino, Washington, Pa.; and Oct. 4-10, Branson Show Extravaganza, MI (six shows and 10 meals.) The 50/50 was won by Tom Beecroft. The Undo’s gift certificates were won by Carl Truax and Nancy Ramsey. The special door prize was won by Gene Viola. Bingo winners were Liz Beecroft, Carla Stevens, Rena Konkle, Dolores Ginier, Cindy Richards, Richard Mergan, Debbie Ligias, Elaine Briceland and Faith Melto.

Peniel Holiness camp set

CONEAUTVILLE, Pa. — The Peniel Holiness Camp Meeting will run from July 16 through July 26.

The camp, located on state Route 18, will open with a concert by Jonathan White at 7:30 p.m. July 16.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., 2L30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Concerts will be held at 7 p.m. July 19 and July 20, with a preaching service to follow at 7:30 p.m.

Evangelists are the Rev. Gary Bond of the Church of the Nazarene and the Rev. Matt Friedman, chairman of evangelism and discipleship at Wesley Biblical Seminary. Song evangelists will be Vance and Jeannie Sharpe July 17-21 and Don and Shirl Gessner July 22-26.

The youth evangelist will be the Rev. Adam Goldbold, associate pastor of Due West Methodist church in Marietta, Ga.

Teens can stay at the camp for 10 days for $125 if they register by July 10. Registration after that will be $150. First-time teen campers can come for free. Larry and Leslie Tackett will minister to the children each day at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Services for adults will be in the main tabernacle.

Rooms, camping facilities and meals will be available.
