Brooke County Public Library events planned
WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library has announced a series of July programs, crafts and holiday observances for children and families.
A “Patriotic Craft & S’mores Dip” program will be held Tuesday, June 30, at 11 a.m. Participants will create a flag pin to take home and make and share patriotic s’mores dip. The library will also host a “250 Years Birthday Celebration” Friday, July 3, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for all ages. The program will include presentations on the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States and John Adams, along with children’s story time and crafts, snacks for all and a tour of the ADBC Museum. Summer Reading Story Hour with Miss Kim will be held Wednesdays, July 1, 8, 15 and 22 at 11 a.m. in the River Room at the Brooke County Public Library, and Mondays, July 6, 13, 20 and 27 at noon in the meeting room at the Follansbee Library. The program features an “Unearth A Story” theme with stories, songs, crafts and lunch. Space is limited and registration is required. City school board to meet
STEUBENVILLE — The Steubenville Board of Education will hold its regular June meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be held in the administrative offices, 611 N. Fourth St.
Amateur radio field day planned
SMITHFIELD — The Steubenville-Weirton Amateur Radio Club will hold its annual American Radio Relay League Field Day event from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Park Shelters 4 and 5.
The public is invited to visit with local amateur radio operators as they demonstrate emergency communications during this national event. Amateur radio operators will set up antennas, radios and other communications equipment and communicate with other amateur radio operators throughout the United States, Canada and the world.
All visitors can experience making contacts through amateur radio using your voice or through data transmissions.

Lavender foundation plans event
STEUBENVILLE — The Ja’Quan Lavender Foundation will hold its fifth-annual Olympic Youth Fun Day Saturday at the Harding Stadium track.
The event, which will run from noon to 3 p.m., will feature track and field-themed activities with enjoyable competition, organizers said. It will include essential nutritional education for health understanding and lessons on teamwork, sportsmanship and self-confidence. All ages are invited to participate.
There will be food, fun and prizes, organizers added.

Budget meeting in Richmond
RICHMOND — Village Council will meet at 7 p.m. July 6 to discuss the 2027 budget.
The budget will be discussed, reviewed, and tentatively approved. This meeting is open to the public.

TORONTO — Crossroads – North River church will be hosting a community blood drive with the American Red Cross from noon to 5 p.m. July 17 in the sanctuary at 207 North River Ave.

SHS Class of 1959 holds luncheon
STEUBENVILLE — The Steubenville Class of 59 held its monthly luncheon June 10 with 13 in attendance.
Norina Eroshevich provided the blessing. Well wishes were sent to Joanne Monigold. A note of appreciation was forwarded to Bill Priest for his ongoing generosity and support of our class and the Steubenville City Schools.
Barry and Sally Wilson provided the cake and birthday wishes extended to all with a June birthday. The next meeting will be held at 12:30 p.m. July 8 at Froehlich’s Classic Corner.
