Brooke Hills youth cast presents ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’

WELLSBURG -- Brooke Hills Playhouse will present its youth and family theater production of "The Emperor's New Clothes," adapted by Timothy Mason, during the next two weekends.

Presented by special arrangement with Plays for New Audiences, this vibrant and fast-paced staging brings Hans Christian Andersen's classic tale of honesty, vanity and humor to life for audiences of all ages.

Mason's adaptation tells the story of an emperor obsessed with royal fashion who falls prey to two cunning weavers claiming to make extraordinary clothes visible only to those who are wise and competent. Filled with colorful characters and timeless lessons, "The Emperor's New Clothes" promises an entertaining outing for children and adults.

Performances will run across two consecutive weekends at Brooke Hills Playhouse: Friday through Sunday and Aug. 7-9. Performance times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

All performances take place at Brooke Hills Playhouse, located at 140 Gist Lane in Brooke Hills Park, Wellsburg. Tickets are available at the box office prior to showtime or online at brookehillsplayhouse.org.
