Booked: Tonya Wallace, 44, 426 S. 4th St., Steubenville, warrant for theft. Wallace also was cited for no operator's license.
Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to owners/occupants of properties at 137 McConnell Ave., all for high grass.

Weeded out: An Adena woman told deputies July 14 that her roommate "is antagonizing her and will not stop." She said they were staying there to help fix the property up for the owner, but her roommate "became sober and took her weed and won't stop bothering her." Deputies said she was unable to explain to them what he was doing that was so bothersome. The man said he was going to stay with a friend down the street and planned to stay away from her.
Rental scam II: A tenant living at a County Road 45 property that scammers have advertised as available to rent said July 14 he tried calling the scammer but the thief wouldn't pick up. While deputies were speaking with the resident another victim of the fraud came to his door and reported he'd been taken for $1,070. The scammer requested payment via Chime.
Animals mauled: A resident on Township Road 246, Toronto, reported dogs had killed her chickens and rabbits July 13 and severely injured her ducks.
Roughing it: A Hammondsville area resident requested a welfare check July 13 on a family with children allegedly living in a camper with no electric or running water. Deputies said one of the parents showed them a generator running power to the camper and a bulk water container that was to be refilled that day. She told them her fiancé and her kids were staying there while their new house is finished. Deputies said all the kids are clean and healthy.
