Library announces September programs

STEUBENVILLE -- The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County will offer a variety of programs for adults and children throughout September at its branches.

At the Main Library, the Book Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 9 to discuss "In Five Years" by Rebecca Serle. Books can be borrowed by calling 740-282-9782. Tot Time for children ages 2-4 and their parents or caregivers will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 8, 15 and 22 and at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 10, 17 and 24. The program introduces children to the alphabet through songs and books.

The Adena Branch will hold Story Time for children ages 5-10 at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 8 and Tot Time for children ages 2-4 at 11:30 a.m. that day. Registration is required for both programs. The Dillonvale Branch will offer Story Time at 5:30 p.m. and Tot Time at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 10, with registration required.

The Schiappa Branch will introduce 3 Stories at 3, featuring three stories read in 15 minutes at 3 p.m. Sept. 8, 15, 22 and 29. The program is geared toward ages 5-10, but all ages are welcome. Tot Time will be held at 10 a.m. Sept. 8, 9, 15, 22, 23, 29 and 30 for children ages 2-4. Babygarten, a lap-sit program for children from birth to age 2 featuring books, play and early literacy tips, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 10 and 24.

Adults at the Tiltonsville Branch will discuss "The Eulogist" by Terry Gamble at 10 a.m. Sept. 8. The Toronto Branch Book Club will discuss "Where'd You Go, Bernadette" by Maria Semple at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 8. Toronto also will offer Tot Time at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 10 and 24 for children ages 2-4. Registration is required.
