United Way gets foundation gift

STEUBENVILLE -- The United Way of Jefferson County has received a $3,444 contribution from the Albaugh & Wherry Charitable Foundation, continuing a longstanding tradition of investing in the health and well-being of Jefferson County.
The gift will help the United Way continue its mission of improving lives by supporting local nonprofit partner agencies and community initiatives, including United for ALICE, United Sole, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, 211, Meals of Hope and volunteer engagement efforts that strengthen communities throughout Jefferson County.
“Every gift entrusted to the United Way represents hope for someone in our community,” said Marci Crawford, executive director of the United Way of Jefferson County. “We are incredibly grateful to the foundation for believing in our mission and continuing a legacy of caring for Jefferson County. Their generosity will help us strengthen local programs, support our partner agencies and ensure our neighbors have the resources they need during difficult times.”
Crawford said the United Way thanked the foundation’s trustees -- Dan Spahn, Sean Campbell, Ted Gorman and Tom Timmons -- for their dedication to honoring the foundation’s charitable legacy and ensuring its generosity continues to make a meaningful difference throughout Jefferson County.
“We are deeply grateful for the foundation’s continued confidence in our mission,” Crawford added. “Partnerships like this remind us of what is possible when people invest in their own community. Together, we are creating opportunities, strengthening local nonprofits and helping our neighbors build brighter futures.”
The United Way thanked the foundation and its trustees for their continued commitment to improving lives and building a stronger Jefferson County, Crawford said.
