ST. CLAIRSVILLE --Members of the Jefferson County Veterans Association volunteered to help staff positions for the Wall That Heals, a three-quarter-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., that was displayed at the Belmont County Fair Grounds.

The volunteers stood post from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the welcome tent. They passed out gift bags to all veterans, answered questions and shared memories with fellow veterans regarding time in service and service stations.

A walk-through mobile Education Display trailer provided visitors with information, facts, and photos of the Vietnam War. Volunteers were stationed at the wall to assist anyone to locate a service member’s name.

The wall provided an opportunity for visitors to remember and reflect on family members, friends and classmates of the more than 58,000 service members who gave their all for America.
