The Jefferson County Joint Vocational School crowned its 2026 Homecoming Queen and King during festivities on Friday, capping off its spirit week celebration. Faculty, students and family members gathered in the commons for the event led by the student council. King candidates Korey Frey, Layne Highley, Andrew Emfield, Kyran Busic, Isaiah Rangel, and Trenton Hess were tasked with unwrapping gift boxes containing tape measures with the king selecting the silver roll, while prospective queens Tori Dear, Avery Patterson, Katie Rivers, Makayla Pittman, Lyla Navarro and Mia Nolan sought a white rose bearing red and blue glitter. In the end, Korey Frey and Tori Dear were crowned this year’s royalty. Frey, the son of Robert and Natalie Frey of Bloomingdale, attends Indian Creek High School and Dear, the daughter of Terry Sr. and Jerri Dear of Toronto, is based at Toronto High School. Festivities concluded with the Red Carpet Gala Homecoming Dance Saturday at the school.
