Town and Country EAST SPRINGFIELD — The Town and Country Ladies Golf League held a two-lady blind scramble July 16 at Spring Hills Golf Course. The first-place team was Signa Findlay and Cathy Jackson; second place was Vicki Brozka and Debbie Hendricks; and third place was Megan Evans and Rose Kaczmarek. The longest drive winner on No. 2 for A Flight was Veronica Foldi; and B Flight, Cathy Jackson. My 2-year-old daughter has been going through a phase lately. If I am standing somewhere in the house, she might come up to me, grab the edges of my shirt and tug on it, saying, "Hold you! Hold you!" She wants me to pick her up. And maybe I will do that. But that's not enough. She then might say, "Walk around. Don't stand. Walk around." Mary H. Weir Public Library expanding hours WEIRTON — The Mary H. Weir Public Library will expand its public service hours by opening on Saturday afternoons beginning Aug. 1. The library will now be open Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m., providing residents with additional opportunities to visit the library, check out books and other materials, use public computers, access free Wi-Fi and enjoy the many resources and services the library has to offer.
