Weirton Christian Center offers peer support group for grieving children

WEIRTON — For five years, the Weirton Christian Center has partnered with Never Alone WV to offer a support program to assist area youth in grief. Never Alone Kids is a step-by-step, activity-driven program that uses peer support within age groups to show children they are not alone as they navigate the grieving process. “This program is in addition to regular programming of preschool, afterschool and summer programs in a safe and secure environment,” said Kim Weaver, executive director of the Weirton Christian Center. Two held after drug busts STEUBENVILLE — Two people were taken into custody Friday after homes in Unionport and Steubenville were searched, Jefferson County Drug Task Force Commander Chris Vinci said. Booked into the county jail were: • Randolph Mitchell III, 25, initially charged with possession of drugs with additional charges pending after a search of a residence at 2921 county Road 39, Unionport.
