Steubenville police

Robbed: A man said another man asked him for a cigarette and proceeded to rob him, Thursday. According to the report, the man said while walking out of a store, the man wrapped his arms around his waist and proceeded to go through his pockets, stealing $75 and fleeing on foot.

Summoned: An officer observed a man lying on the side of a roadway with his head in the grass, Thursday. According to the report, dispatch alerted the officer the man had an active warrant. Justin S. Hazelip, 38, 1412 Orchard St., was issued a summons for failure to appear.

Shots fired: Police received a complaint of shots fired on the 700 block of Rosswell Avenue, Friday.

Cited: Hunter G. Knicely, 23, 106 Cunningham Lane, driving under suspension; Skyler Gaunt, 24, 201 Miami Ave., Weirton, left of center.

Jefferson County sheriff

Theft: A caller from Smithfield Township reported a friend of his grandson stole a video game, Wednesday. According to the report, the caller said the individual was invited over to play and the game was missing after they left. The grandson had a screen shot from social media of the individual in question allegedly breaking the game, valued at $65.

Harassed: A woman reported that her ex boyfriend followed her to some storage units, yelled and spat on her window, Thursday. According to the report, the woman said the incident was only verbal.

Charged: David E. Barrett, 20, 1341 Madison Ave., Toronto, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, driving under suspension, failure to display license plate, warrant out of Franklin County, Friday.
