Jefferson County sheriff

False alarm: Deputies were dispatched to a residence on township Road 218, Irondale, after a man reported hearing “seven or eight” shots fired Thursday in the vicinity of a neighbor’s property. Officers said neither the homeowner or his companion were in distress when officers arrived on scene. Neither of them heard gunshots. The individual who reported hearing the shots told deputies he saw tail lights in his neighbor’s driveway and notified members of the other man’s family, who in turn contacted 911.

Arrested: Jessica L. Connolly, 38, 128 Park Ave., Weirton, was charged with possession of drugs and conveyance Thursday.

Arrested: Jonathan Hootman 41, 227 Emmet Way, Steubenville, operating a vehicle under the influence, Wednesday.

Toronto police

Arrested: Bill Joe Pearson, 41, 1501 Madison Ave., Toronto, charged Thursday with domestic violence.

Steubenville police

Arrested: Jamarcus K. Holmes, 18, 1322 Wellesley Ave., Steubenville, charged with felonious assault, tampering with evidence, carrying a concealed weapon and failure to appear Wednesday.

Arrested: Michael Reynard, 69, 129 Vine St., Steubenville, operating a vehicle under the influence and failure to control. Reynard was taken into custody Thursday after his car ran off the road in the 1900 block of Lincoln Avenue.

Arrested: Shanae Smith, 20, of 326 Highland Ave., Steubenville, bench warrant. Smith turned herself in Thursday.

Arrested: Jay R. Blair, 58, 414 N. Sixth St., apt. 4, Steubenville, bench warrant. Blair was taken into custody Thursday after officers discovered he had an outstanding warrant.

Cited: Wayne M. Schooley, 56, no fixed address, open container; a juvenile who turned onto McDowell Avenue without signaling was ticketed for no driver’s license; a homemade trailer filled with garbage and construction materials was ticketed for overtime parking in the 1500 block of Foster Place and towed.

Arrested: Gabriel D. Welshans, 33, Sturgeon, Pa., two counts of possession of a controlled substance and speeding, Jan. 1.

Cited: Carol A. Kreps, 61, Apartment 304, 101 Meridian Way, unconfined vicious dog; and Jeannie L. Williams, 23, 1212 Plum St., Steubenville, red light violation.

Cited for speeding: Tammy L. Hendrix, 49, 301 West High St., Jewett; Diana Drakes, 54, 513 North Fifth St., Steubenville; Ray A. Scurry, 50, 238 Rockdale Street, Steubenville; Brandon R. Ross, 26, Wheeling; and Jay Dent, 18, 332 Harmony Drive.
