Super Bowl Eve Tailgate benefits Weirton United Way
WEIRTON -- The 10th Super Bowl Eve Virtual Tailgate -- the largest annual event for the Weirton United Way -- is scheduled for Saturday.
In keeping with COVID-19 safety measures, this year's tailgate is being held as on online, virtual fundraiser and will feature a large drawing of gift baskets, gift cards, cash prizes and sports items.
Nearly all fundraising activities in 2020 were canceled due to the pandemic, according to a news release, with the United Way relying primarily on donations from individuals and businesses. Proceeds from special events help fund member agencies.
The drawing of winning tickets will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. on Facebook Live on the Weirton United Way 10th Super Bowl Eve Virtual Tailgate event page. "Be sure to like our Facebook page -- Weirton United Way -- to keep up with the latest news on the event."
Winners do not have to watch the live broadcast. Winners will be contacted with information on picking up their prize.
Tickets can be purchased at the United Way, 3970 Main St., Weirton, or by calling (304) 748-7213.
