Threats: An Empire woman reported being threatened by neighbors after an incident involving their children, Monday. The problems started when the neighbor's kids came on her porch without permission to retrieve a basketball that had landed in their yard. Deputies said it was obvious someone had tried to load the mower into a vehicle using the wood as a makeshift ramp, noting there were also tire tracks at the base of the mower where it appeared a vehicle had backed up to the hillside and the culprits tried to use the ATV to push the mower onto the vehicle. The owner believes he knows who tried to steal the vehicle and told deputies he'd like to pursue charges.

Her daughter called in soon after to give deputies her side of the story, explaining her mother was "blowing up her phone" with texts threatening to call children's services and police and take her children away.
