STEUBENVILLE POLICE A Lawson Avenue man was charged with arson after an early morning fire Saturday gutted his home. Police said Brandon M. Carroll, 27, 435 Lawson Ave., was booked into the Jefferson County jail without bond. Security cameras captured footage of a man in a red hoodie leaving the residence immediately before the fire started, police said, and several people allege Carroll told them “he had caught the (residence) on fire,” with one of them claiming Carroll had said he “lit a pillow on fire.” They produced a red hoodie and boots they said Carroll had been wearing ...
