Steubenville Police Out of hand: A caller reported a female hitting her boyfriend in the 900 block of North Sixth Street, Monday. The victim said they were “watching TV and got into an argument” and she “hit him in the left eye,” Monday. Police said the man’s left eye was red, swollen and bruised but he “did not know what she hit him with because she hit him out of nowhere.” He wasn’t sure he wanted to file charges, but police pointed out “the injury to his eye appeared to be very noticeable.” The female told police they were about to go to bed “when (he) grabbed ...

Steubenville Police Action-reaction: A man in the 1200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue complained that his upstairs neighbor’s dogs were “barking and scratching the floor” and she was “walking around, stomping her feet,” Sunday. The upstairs neighbor said her dogs were playing in her apartment and he “began to hit the roof with a broom stick” which made her dogs bark even more, so she “then started to stomp her feet.” Both were advised of the noise ordinance and told they could be cited if they continue to cause problems.
