Steubenville Police Flying high: A caller reported a man seeking treatment for drug or alcohol abuse “was so overly intoxicated that he was now being combative with staff and (firefighters),” Sunday. Staff said he “admitted to taking between 1,600 mg and 1,800 mg of Gabapentin and Klonopin before arriving” as well as downing “(about) one pint of vodka,” but when they told him he would have to be medically cleared before he could enter treatment he “refused to listen.” Police said the man was “so overly intoxicated and/or under the influence that he was unable to stand ...

The man told police he’d been at the woman’s home “and they were drinking” and started arguing so he and his son left, but she followed them to the Lincoln Avenue location “and began honking the horn nonstop,” then banged on the door “trying to get him to come outside. Steubenville Police Family matters: A city resident was booked into the Jefferson County Jail without bond after he allegedly showed up at a family member's Euclid Avenue home for Thanksgiving dinner "heavily intoxicated" and belligerent, Thursday. The hostess said they began arguing shortly after his arrival and when she told him to leave "became all the more upset" and "grabbed a plate full of food and threw it out the back door." Steubenville Police Dog days: A Ridge Avenue woman told police she needed help getting a male to leave her home, Monday. She said the two of them argued because he “let her dogs outside and left them.” When he wouldn’t leave her home, she admits “grabbing his coat and pulling him out of the residence” and claims he “threatened to burn her house down with (her) dogs inside” but there were no witnesses.
