Steubenville Police Theft charged: Two people who allegedly loaded a “full cart of groceries” from Kroger they hadn’t paid for into a red pickup were taken into custody, Tuesday. Police reported finding “a large amount of groceries piled up in the back seat” of the truck after an employee pointed them to the vehicle and the two people getting in it. Thomas L. Tennant, 30, and Marlana E. Hart, 32, both of 543 N. Fifth Street Toronto were booked for misdemeanor theft, police said. Jefferson County Sheriff Road rage: Roadworkers in Island Creek Township Road 381 said three men drove into the work zone with three men in it despite “road closed” signs that had been posted and began arguing with them, Friday. One of the roadworkers said he was arguing with the driver when a younger male sitting in the back seat leaned forward between the seats “and pointed a gun at him.” Deputies said Kevin J. Steubenville Police Road rage: A motorist who called 911 told dispatchers a “dark colored truck was following their car extremely close” in the vicinity of state Route 7 and Third Street, Saturday. Police located both vehicles and confirmed the pickup was “less than a car length” behind the sedan the caller was driving and the pickup driver also had his high beams on. When he saw police closing in they said the truck’s driver “immediately stopped following the vehicle and got behind (the cruiser) as (they both) re-entered Route 7 7 northbound.” That officer stopped the ...
